Auto Body & Paint Programs

Auto bill correll body and paint programs offer career advancement and higher pay. After completing the program, graduates can get better paying jobs and advance faster than those who do not have the training. Many programs also have continuing education requirements. In addition, some programs are part-time. Therefore, you need to have the time to complete the courses, which may take several months.

Painting a car after an accident

If you’ve had an accident that results in paint damage, your auto insurance company will likely cover the cost of a paint job as part of the repair costs. Although an insurance company will usually pay for an accident-related paint job, it is worth noting that paint damage from wear and tear and prolonged exposure to the elements may not be covered.

Insurance companies do cover minor scratches that occur from driving on rough surfaces. However, larger damage from vandals and animals can raise your insurance rates, so you may want to consider filing a claim with your insurance company.

Choosing the correct paint color

Choosing the right color for your car body can add new life to it. However, you must be careful with your choice. There are certain colors that may not suit your car, such as yellow or red. Generally, the best color choices are silver, black, or white. Other colors might not be as attractive, and they might not offer the best resale value.

Before choosing the paint color for your car, you must first determine the type of vehicle you have. Some cars were made in a certain color and can be painted with that color. This color may differ slightly from the original color of the car. You can also ask the associate of the auto body shop to help you find the correct color.

Choosing a primer

The type of primer you choose is an important part of achieving the best paint job for your vehicle. The right primer provides a good base for the paint to adhere to and will help keep corrosion at bay. There are several types of primers available, but most people will use one or two types.

Before you begin the priming process, you should prepare the surface of your vehicle by sanding off any previous paint. If the vehicle is in need of a touch up, 2,000-2,500-grit wet and dry paper can be used. The paper should be pressed lightly to remove minor scratches.

Choosing a finish

When you’re buying a new car, there are many options for choosing the finish you want. There are metallic, pearlescent, and other finishes to choose from. Each type has its own benefits and drawbacks. If you’re a novice mechanic or are considering a heavy-duty vehicle, metallic is probably not the best choice. If you’re looking for weather protection, repairability, and durability, standard/solid/non-metallic paint is your best bet.

Metallic paints are a great choice if you want an upscale look, but you should be aware of their limited color range. They are not as unique as standard finishes, and may not provide the desired tone.
